Animal Care Sessions at Westmoreland Sanctuary

Join us at Westmoreland Sanctuary for an exciting hands-on program where kids become animal caretakers for a day. This fun and interactive experience gives children the opportunity to learn what it takes to care for the different animals housed at Westmoreland and ultimately gain a connection with and a deeper appreciation for animals and nature. Under the supervision of a Westmoreland Sanctuary animal caretaker, kids will: Meet the animals: Get an up-close look at our resident reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals while learning about their care and their role in educating the public on wildlife conservation. Animal care basics: Help with the daily routine of caring for the animals. Including cleaning enclosures, maintaining the health of our animals and providing enrichment. Feed the animals: Learn about the dietary needs of the Sanctuary's animal ambassadors. Learning about their diets helps us understand their behavior and ensure they stay healthy.
