Historic Huguenot Street is a 10-acre National Historic Landmark District, where visitors experience over 300 years of history. Examining three historic structures along Huguenot Street, "Three Centuries, Three Cultures" explores the multicultural history of a unique American settlement, known today as New Paltz, New York: the Esopus Munsee wigwam represents the strength and sacrifices of this region’s Indigenous peoples from pre-colonial America to the present day; the 1717 French Church teaches the European colonial origins of the multicultural Hudson Valley; and the Jacob Hasbrouck House shares colonial life for both the free and enslaved members of the community.

Brian will talk about the early origins of Ice Yachting on the Hudson River. Stories will be shared of Poughkeepsie sailors like Aaron Innis and John A. Roosevelt, whose ice yachts Haze and Icicle were national champions. Ice yacht races on the river were watched by thousands off the Poughkeepsie waterfront, with skippers vying for silk pennants and silver cups for the title of fastest ice yacht in the world. Brian will share the efforts to preserve these historic crafts and how they are still sailed and raced today
