Details

Event Type Hudson River Estuary Exploration/Environmental Education Description REACH/Stem is a series of classes which includes 20 hours of instruction, and will use the US Sailing REACH/Stem Curriculum to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts in the real world of sailing. Each class will be open to 16 Students and will be broken into two groups of eight. On a typical class day, one group of eight will be led by a US Sailing Certified STEM instructor to learn STEM concepts and do land-based experiments and hands-on learning activities for half the time; the other group of students will sail with US Sailing Certified Small Boat Instructors on our fleet of Keel and centerboard boats for half the time. Then the groups will switch, so everyone will experience on-the-water and land-based instruction during most class dates.
