Details

Event Type Science Event Description Celebrate NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night with family and friends under the nearly full moon. Tucked in an ancient glacial bowl that defines the horizon, Innisfree has very little light pollution, making night sky viewing here a sublime experience. The moon will be at a clear waxing gibbous phase, with approximately 60% of its surface illuminated. Bring your binoculars, which are terrific for moon viewing. Volunteers from the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association will answer questions and have telescopes set up to provide visitors with closer looks at the moon and other noteworthy celestial bodies. Space is limited. If the garden reaches capacity, guests with pre-reserved tickets will be given priority.
