Event Type Walk/Hike Description The paved trails go through the historic Rondout section of Kingston with stately homes. The Rondout was the largest shipping facility on the Hudson River between New York City and Albany in the late 1800s. Today, shops, a major Hudson River marina, the Hudson River Maritime Museum, and the Kingston Trolley Car museum are all located in the district. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. A self-guided brochure and guide/map is available that will point out the various historical sites and natural scenic points along the way. The short 5 k (3.1 miles) route is mostly on city streets and paved trails; the 10 k (6.2 miles) route climbs several hills in the Rondout area. Both routes are not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
