The Byrdcliffe Colony (also called the Byrdliffe Arts Colony) was founded in 1902 near Woodstock, New York by Jane and Ralph Whitehead and colleagues, Bolton Brown (artist) and Hervey White (writer). The Arts and Crafts Movement arose in the late nineteenth century. As an experiment in utopian living inspired by the arts and crafts movement, the Byrdcliffe Colony was an integral part.

The Empire State Railway Museum is a non-profit museum located in the historic Ulster & Delaware Phoenicia Railroad Station, Phoenicia, New York. The museum has seasonal exhibits in the station. The station also serves as a stop on the Catskill Mountain Railroad.
